A Church With A Mission

Jesus Christ commanded his disciples to spread the good news of his death and resurrection throughout the world and to call people from all nations to follow Him (Matthew 28:18-20). Every Christian has the responsibility and privilege of representing Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. As a church, we seek to participate in God's mission both locally and globally. We recognize the importance of meeting people's physical and spiritual needs, while pointing to Jesus Christ himself as God's provision for our greatest need. We support campus ministers at local universities through organizations such as Campus Crusade for Christ and the Rivendell Institute. We support Young Life New Haven in their outreach to urban youth in New Haven, and we also support the Hope Child Development Center, which offers quality Christian daycare and after-school programs in the Hill neighborhood.

As an international hub city New Haven provides special opportunities to be involved in world mission. There are students, refugees, and visitors from countries otherwise closed to the gospel who live for a few months or years in New Haven. We also welcome visiting missionaries staying at the Overseas Ministries Study Center to Trinity. And God has called some from our own congregation to proclaim the gospel in other parts of the world. We currently support missionaries serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Frontiers, Christian Mission to Gaza, the Southern Baptist International Mission Board, and other ministries. A bulletin board is located in the Fellowship Hall which contains up to date newsletters and information from Trinity missionaries. Please feel free to take a newsletter or two to remind you to pray for these missionaries and their families.
