Dr. Josh Moody

Dr. Moody serves as Senior Pastor. He was born in Epsom, Surrey, in the suburbs of London, England. He went to boarding school in Essex in England until he was 18. During that time, he really got going as a Christian and saw God revive his work in a secular school with a hundred of his peers coming to Christ in one week. He was educated at Cambridge University for his undergraduate degree in History, during which time he served as President of the Cambridge Inter-Collegiate Christian Union, graduating in 1991. He was then active in cross-cultural mission, pioneering the gospel in capital city universities of the Republic of Georgia and Azerbaijan in the former Soviet Union. After a year on location, he returned to his native England, going on staff at Romford Evangelical Church north of London. He then returned to his alma mater Cambridge University, and studied for the doctorate degree in Theology, which he completed in 1998. He was a visiting Research Fellow at Yale Divinity School in 1997. He ran the college ministry on pastoral staff at Eden Baptist Church in Cambridge for several years. In 1999, he was called by Trinity to be its Pastor. He is a board member of the Baptist Convention of New England. He is a member of Yale Religious Ministries. His publications include The God-Centered Life (IVP, 2006), Jonathan Edwards and the Enlightenment (University Press of America, 2005), and Authentic Spirituality (Kingsway, 2000). He writes a column each month for Evangelicals Now, and every two months for the New Haven Register. He is married to Rochelle, and they have two children, Josiah and Sophia.
